A quick starter guide for buying CHADS with USD.
This will be a three part process:
- Buying ETH from a Central Exchange
- Create a personal wallet using Metamask and transfers ETH into the newly created wallet.
- Connects the newly created wallet to Uniswap and buy CHADS.
1. How to buy ETH from a CEX
- Create a Coinbase account
- Add a credit card or bank account here
- In the Buy/Sell tab, select your card or bank account, and press the Preview Buy button.
4. On the Order Preview page click Buy now
You now own Ethereum and is one step closer to owning some CHADS.
2. How to set up Metamask and create a wallet
- Install Metamask (Web 3 wallet) as a Google Chrome extension. Click “Add to Chrome” and “Add Extension”
2. You should now get a new tab with a Get started button, click it and create a new wallet.
3. On the Help us improve Metamask page choose the option you prefer.
4. Set up a strong password, check the terms of use and click Create
5. Metamask will now show you your seed. It is very important that you copy and store those 12 words, without them you cannot restore your wallet. Remember these words gives access to the wallet so they have to be stored in a secure manner.
6. Click Next and confirm your backup phrase in correct order.
7. Congratulations you have now set up a a wallet, click All Done and you will see the Metamask home screen for you wallet.
8. If you want the extension to show all the time just click the puzzle piece up in the right corner and click the pin.
9. Now lets get back to Coinbase; when you log in there is a send button in the upper right corner, click it and you will get a menu like this:
Click on Pay with Ethereum and enter the amount. In the To address you have to paste the the wallet address for the wallet you just created in Metamask.
To get this address: click the fox icon (Metamask) in the upper right corner, now click the account name (Account 1 in this case) to copy the address. Paste this into the To field in the Coinbase dialogue and click Continue.
Now just confirm the transaction and ETH should be on it’s way to your Metamask wallet.
3. Buy CHADS on Uniswap with Metamask
Now that you have ETH in your Metamask wallet head over to uniswap. Check the “I understand” box and click Continue.
Now click on Connect to a wallet up in the right corner and choose Metamask. You will now be prompted for your password, type it in and click Unlock.
You should now be able to Swap ETH for CHADS
Click Swap and Confirm on the Metamask dialog that pops up.
Congratulations, as soon as the transaction is confirmed you are now a CHADS holder.
